Put an AI agent on support@ and keep humans in the loop
Mail to support@ triggers a signed webhook. Your agent reads the thread, answers what it can through the API, and hands the rest to people, who see every message in the same shared inbox.
Works with a domain you already own. One price for your whole team.

Why FutureMail works for AI support agents
Mail in, agent awake
Subscribe a webhook to email.received. Each delivery is HMAC-signed with an event id that stays stable across retries, retried if your endpoint is down, and replayable, so no message is silently dropped.
Full context for every answer
GET /v1/threads/:id returns every message in the conversation, so the agent answers the latest question with the whole history in view instead of the last email alone.
Replies that thread properly
POST /v1/emails/:id/reply sends from support@, quotes the original and stays in the customer's thread. An Idempotency-Key header stops a retried job from replying twice.
One inbox for the agent and the team
The agent's replies sit in the shared support mailbox next to everyone else's. Teammates can read along, search past answers and take over a thread at any point.
Clean hand-offs
When the agent isn't sure, it stars the thread or leaves it unread, or forwards it to escalations@ with a summary. Your team picks it up from the inbox.
Least-privilege keys
Pin the agent's API key to the support mailbox and skip the full scope, so it works one inbox and can't change domains, API keys or webhooks.
Agent-ready
How a support reply flows
A customer emails support@. Your endpoint verifies the FutureMail-Signature header, loads the thread and passes it to your model with your help docs. Confident answers go out through the reply endpoint; everything else is starred for a person.

Common questions
Does FutureMail come with an AI support agent?
No. FutureMail provides the support inbox, webhooks, REST API and MCP server. The agent is yours, built on whichever model and code you choose.
How does a person take over from the agent?
Have the agent star the thread, leave it unread or forward it to an escalation address. A teammate opens it in the web inbox and replies from support@ in the same thread.
Can I get new mail without running a webhook endpoint?
Yes. GET /v1/events is a Server-Sent Events stream of the same events, and GET /v1/emails/wait long-polls for the next matching email for up to 5 minutes.
Will customers know the reply came from an agent?
That's up to you. Replies come from support@ with the display name you set for that address, and you control what the agent writes, including any sign-off that says it's automated.
How much does FutureMail cost? Is there a free plan?
FutureMail is paid-only: Pro is $20/month and includes 50,000 recipients a month, unlimited domains and addresses, agent inboxes, the API and MCP server. There is no free tier or trial. Limits are hard caps, so there are never overage charges and no per-seat pricing. Charged in USD; Stripe may show your local currency and add applicable tax. Need more volume?
