Changelog

What's new

New features and improvements to FutureMail, newest first.

  1. The fm CLI is on npm

Install the FutureMail command line with npm i -g futuremail. It runs on Node 18.3+ and has no runtime dependencies.

    • Send, read, search and wait for email from your terminal or scripts, with --json on every command
    • fm wait --otp blocks until a verification email arrives and prints the code
    • Manage domains, addresses, agent inboxes, API keys and webhooks

  2. Launch: paid plans, legal pages, status and backups

Everything needed to run FutureMail as a production service.

    • Pro plan: $20/month for 50,000 recipients, unlimited domains and addresses, no per-seat pricing. New accounts ramp up at 1,000 recipients a day for their first 14 days
    • Bring your own domain: onboarding walks you through subscribing, adding a domain, DNS and your first addresses
    • Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, Data Processing Addendum, subprocessor list and refund policy
    • Public status page for the API, web app and email delivery
    • Continuous, encrypted off-site backups with verified snapshots
    • OpenAPI 3.1 description at /openapi.json and a full API reference
    • Account export and deletion
    • Sending moved to a durable queue with automatic retries; inbound mail now carries SPF, DKIM, DMARC and virus verdicts

  3. Transactional email features, teams and a Resend-compatible API

The sending features you'd expect from a transactional email API, plus organizations for teams.

    • Batch sends (up to 100 per call), scheduled sends with cancel and reschedule, templates with variables, tags and idempotency keys
    • Attachments by URL and inline images (CID)
    • Test addresses that simulate delivered, bounced, complained and delayed outcomes
    • A delivery timeline for every email, open and click tracking, and an automatic suppression list
    • Webhooks with HMAC signatures, retries and replay
    • A Resend-compatible API under /resend: point the Resend SDK at FutureMail and keep your code
    • Teams: organizations with owner, admin, developer and viewer roles, invites and an audit log
    • Email and API request logs and metrics in the dashboard
    • Custom MAIL FROM domains and per-domain TLS policy
