Acceptable Use Policy

Effective

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses FutureMail, including your team members and any AI agents or software acting with your API keys.

1.What FutureMail is for

FutureMail is for two kinds of email:

  • Transactional email that a recipient expects because of something they did or a relationship they have with you: sign-in codes, password resets, receipts, invoices, account and security notices, order and shipping updates, alerts they asked for.
  • Person-to-person email: individual messages and replies written by you, your team or your agents to people you are actually corresponding with.

2.What you may not send

  • Bulk, marketing or promotional email: newsletters, announcements, campaigns and "blasts", even to people who opted in. Use a dedicated marketing provider for those.
  • Unsolicited email of any kind, including cold outreach at volume.
  • Email to purchased, rented, scraped, harvested or shared lists, or to addresses generated by guessing.
  • Phishing, credential harvesting, malware, or links to them.
  • Email that impersonates another person, brand or organization, or forges or hides its origin.
  • Content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing or threatening, that infringes others' rights, or that exploits or endangers minors.
  • Email sent from domains or addresses you don't own or aren't authorized to use.

4.Bounce and complaint thresholds

Healthy sending protects every customer's deliverability. We monitor each account's rates over a rolling window:

  • Bounce rate must stay below 4%.
  • Complaint (spam report) rate must stay below 0.08%.

Accounts that exceed either threshold have sending suspended automatically, without prior notice. Receiving keeps working. We will tell the account owners and work with you to find and fix the cause before sending is restored.

5.Respect the limits

Do not evade plan limits, the new-account ramp-up, rate limits or a suspension, for example by opening multiple accounts or organizations, sharing one subscription across unrelated businesses, or rotating domains or addresses to avoid suppression. Do not use the Service to probe, scan or attack other systems, or interfere with the Service or other customers.

6.AI agents and automation

Agents and scripts that use FutureMail are held to the same rules as people, and you are responsible for what they do. In particular:

  • Agents must not sign up for, or create accounts on, services in violation of those services' terms, for example to mass-register accounts, evade bans or abuse free trials.
  • Agents must not use one-time codes or verification links to access accounts or systems they aren't authorized to access.
  • Agents must not send unsolicited email, run outreach campaigns, or generate email at a volume no person is supervising.
  • Give each agent its own inbox and a key scoped to it, and keep a human responsible for monitoring its activity.

7.Reporting abuse

If you received unwanted or abusive email sent through FutureMail, or found a security issue, please email abuse@futuremail.dev with the full message headers if you can. We review every report.

8.Enforcement

If we reasonably believe this policy has been violated, we may remove content, suspend sending, suspend or terminate the account, report illegal activity to the authorities, and cooperate with investigations, as described in the Terms of Service. Fees are not refunded for accounts terminated for violating this policy. We may update this policy as abuse patterns change; the effective date above shows the latest version.
